According to baseball tradition, it was Elihu Phinney's cow pasture in Cooperstown, NY that the first game of baseball was played in 1839. This site is now home to Baseball Hall of Fame's Doubleday Field. This Cooperstown check is drawn on the Otsego County Bank, dated 1853 and signed by Phinney. This is a true authentic piece of baseball history!!
